New Chair
As previously mentioned, I (Eric Crichton) have finished being Acting Chair.
Thanks to all those who have helped me over these past years.
For this year at least, Robb Radford, chair of Fylde, will be Area Chair and can be contact via our Area website HERE
Website Changes
All of our local group websites are in the process of being internally updated.
While mostly an internal issue, you will find that any forms on your website have changed, and probably also any videos or galleries.
Some items may have disappeared if not supported or not replaceable on the new system.
But otherwise the websites should look much the same.
The websites are being converted over a period of time, some have already changed, some may be a time away.
If you bump into any problems, please let the local web manager know, or contact the Area web manager HERE
Walk Leading
ATTENTION: If you are considering becoming a leader, tell us before May 14 after which the administration process is more complex.**
Our biggest need at the moment is to develop new walk leaders or perhaps encourage known walk leaders to return.
Our walk programmes obviously depend totally on our leaders.
We have lots of ways of helping members to become leaders, apart from mentoring, there are online videos to go through the essentials, and groups will go out of their way to help introduce you.
Please consider taking on this role, the vast majority of members could lead some walks, even if only those they know in their own area.
You should have received a Rambler newsletter with the new guidance on walk leading.
Footpaths
MERE LANE
There is an issue with Mere Lane and we would like to hear from anyone who uses OR Has Used this lane in the past.

Mere Ln is presently shown on MARIO as an unadopted highway, that goes from its junction with The Marshes Lane (B5246 - Grid ref SD42131767) to its junction with Wiggins Lane (Grid ref SD42601688 – near Holmeswood Village Hall). The first part of Mere Ln, is part of Tarleton FP 22, which goes from The Marshes Lane to Banister Hall. The rest of Mere Ln is officially without any rights of public access, because it is an unadopted highway.
