What This Form Is For.

Ramblers guidelines wish leaders to complete a risk assessment, in part to act as a checklist to be thought about for each walk.

This form is intended to try and simplify and part automate the risk assessment and automatically file it in a Mid Lancs Area electronic storage.

You are NOT required to use this form, it is offfered for your convenience. It is as close a representation of the Ramblers Risk assessment form as this system permits.

Typical for time of year, neither excessive heat or cold.

More adverse than typical but acceptable for walk.

More pleasant than usual.

Unusually hot/cold/windy, walkers will be advised accordingly.

Pre Walk Checks *

- Be Up To Date on current Covid Rules
- Registered Phone with 999 text service
- Walk Start time, start and length clearly Displayed
- Escape/alternate routes known
- Hazards avoided where possible

Topics to be handled during walk *

I confirm that I will handle these topics as needed enroute.

- Outline walk to walkers mentioning hazards.

- Consider if anyone's inappropriately dressed.

- Cross fields with livestock calmly, quietly and together.

- Be prepared to divert if needed

- Leave gates as they are found

- Advise if ticks known to be active

- Maintain single file on any road sections
