The groups each have their own walk programme and these are combined into a joint programme for the Area.
This covers 4 month periods starting in Mar, Jul and Nov and inclludes perhaps 160 walks.
There are some additional walks included at shorter notice and can be found on this site or a couple of group locations.
As a result:-
- there are walks every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
- walks every 2nd Wednesday
- Multiple weekend walks and sometimes on Monday.
Walks vary from leisurely 4 ish miles up to challenging 15 miles or so with quite a lot being in the 5-8 mile range.
The more challenging walks tend to be in the weekend.
Shorter walks are usually in the gerneral Lanacshire area perhaps 30-45 min awat from most towns in the area.
The longer and more energetic walks may be further away such as in the Lakes and Dales or in more local hilly areas.
For the walks further away, it is common to have a car share system in place.
Non-members are welcome to join a few walks to see which groups or types of walk would suit them.
