Whether a new or estabished leader there is always the problem of what walks you might offer.

You will probably have identified some sources that you find suits you.

This website has a number of facilities that may be of use in finding new walks.

The menu contains these facilities:-

- Walk Descriptions - a number of fully documented walks with pictures, text, and GPX file.
                                  Possibly especially useful to newer leaders.

- Map of Walks - this provides (a list) and an interactive map of all the GPX recorded walks known to this site.
                           Clicking down through the map will lead to a map of an individual walk.
                           The tracks are not always perfect but they are real walked tracks.
                            You may need to/want to edit or use them as a base, or use them directly.
                            Just remember that they may be quite old - the file name usually includes the creation date.

- Sources of Walks - this is a list of some known walk sites that do, or appear to, provide sound walks.
                                 Some are subscription sites that can be commended,
                                 The others are free sites of varying quality but all seem useful.

- Start of Walks - this is an interactive map of everywhere that Ramblers have started guided walks.
                            It is likely that these are viable starting locations so can assist in deciding a 
                            start point that suits your walk. 
                            It indicates how often its been used and some text for it.

- Previous Programmes - this is a list of the 4 month walk programmes going back a few years.
                                         These are all in the same format as the current programme.
                                         Useful either to find the detaials of a previous walk of for ideas.

- Historic Archive - Scanned copies of walk programmes going back Decades!
                               Perhaps ideas for different types of walks.

- Plot a walk - this is a facility to plot a walk on a map.
                       At the time of writing, there are only free maps but OS maps are being investigated.

- Submit a Walk - If you have a walk that you would like to lead but don't mind which group uses it,
                             then you can submit a description of your walk on a form here and it will be advised
                             to any or all groups.

- Submit a Description/GPX - If you have a recorded track for a walk and send it on this form, it can be
                                               added to the interactive map of walks.
                                               If you have perhaps written a description for it, it can be added to the site
                                               if you send it on this form. It doesn''t have to be in the style of the
                                                existing descriptions.
