We would encourage all walkers to try and report footpaths issues they encounter.
In the Mid Lancs Rambler Area the Lancashire County Council (LCC) is responsible for footpaths
so most of the reporting methods mentioned below relate to the LCC.
If it's unclear if it is an LCC issue, use the footpath feedback form on this site and someone will try and direct it to the correct Authority.
While some of the groups have a system for footpath checking, this does not cover the whole of the LCC area so
additional inputs from members/public are helpful.
Also there are benefits in individuals reporting the same footpath faults as the greater use of a path, the higher priority it has.
With the financial pressure on councils over recent years the LCC has to apply priority to any fault report.
So progress on a fault is largely restricted to Health and Safety concerns or serious issues.
There are a number of ways to report a footpath issue but in all cases the information needed is as here.

Carry a small pair of secateurs and snip the vegetation blocking your passage along the Public Right of Way (PROW).
